The luminescent Ge-related framework was prepared by ion implantation of Ge ions into diamond and subsequent annealing or CVD. Significant purity IIa-kind (001) single-crystal diamond substrates (Element six, electronic grade) have been useful for the ion implantation experiments. The level of nitrogen impurities in the substrate is under five ppb.
